Resident artist of Shanghai Opera House. Elected as one of the New Top 10 Tenors in China by CCTV. In 2007 HAN Peng graduated from the Vocal Department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He studied under the direction of Prof. ZHOU Xiaoyan, Prof. CHEN Xing, and the famous tenor Mr. WEI Song.
In 2009, he won the First Prize in the "Turandot" International Opera Competition in Verona, Italy. He was also granted the SpecialPrize of "Best Voice" by UNESCO. In 2010, he won the First Prize in the "Riccardo Zandonai" International Competition for Young Opera Singers. In 2013, he won the Second Prize in the vocal group of the 15th CCTV National Competition for Young Singers.
The operas in which he performed as leading role include Aida, Attila, Carmen, Turandot, Cavalleria Rusticana, Rigoletto, Le Villi, Simon Boccanegra, King of Chu, Book of Heart, The Song of the Swallow, The Rickshaw Boy, etc. He has collaborated with various famous conductors, including Chung Myung-whun, Daniel Oren, John Nelson, Markus Stenz, etc. He has performed in Wiener Musikverein, Arena di Verona, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro Carlo Felice, Teatro Comunale di Firenze, Auditorium Fondazione Cariplo, Auditorium Niccolò Paganini, Daegu Opera House, etc. During 2015, he performed in the NCPA production of The Rickshaw Boy and toured in Italy, which has been broadcasted by RAI Italy.
